Hills, trees and hidden drain runs
Wimbledon Hill and the roads off it slope more than most of south-west London, and gardens are often large, mature and full of trees. Drains from big houses may run a long way downhill, under terraces and driveways, before reaching the sewer.
Slopes affect how a drain flows and where debris settles. A bend near the bottom of a garden is a common place for a build-up. Roots from old trees can find their way into clay joints. We plan access around gates, gravel and planting so that a camera inspection or repair does not damage the garden more than it must.
